A cause of death is yet to be revealed. Police were alerted to his body's location after receiving a call about an empty vehicle.

Concerns were also raised when Cole failed to show up for a TV show appointment alongside his agent, which was described as 'uncharacteristic' for him.

Kansas Sheriff's office released a statement confirming that the actor's body had been found.

Shared to social media, it read: "On April 5, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of 200th and Homestead Lane in reference to an unoccupied vehicle.

"Deputies checked the area and discovered a deceased male in a wooded area away from the vehicle. The deceased male has been identified as Cole Brings Plenty, 27."

It continued: "Investigators, Crime Scene Investigators and the Medical Examiner are on scene."

The investigation into Cole's death is 'ongoing', and Johnson's County Sheriff's Office have asked anyone with information to contact them on 913-782-0720.

Cole was the nephew of Yellowstone's Mo Brings Plenty, who had been campaigning for people's help in locating the 27-year-old prior to police's sad discovery.

Mo recently shared a statement on social media on behalf of Cole's father, Joe.

"I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us," it read.

"We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole.

"We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas.

"I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.

"During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward.

"Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding."

Cole's disappearance came after he'd been charged with aggravated burglary, domestic battery and criminal restraint on the day of his disappearance, Sky News reports.

An warrant for his arrest was said to have been issued.
