Woman mortified after discovering hidden code in her pineapple tattoo

The woman had no idea until a friend told her to 'Google it'

A TikTok user was left horrified after she realized her innocent pineapple tattoo had a hidden code that she was completely unaware of when she got it.

Ah, tattoos. For something so permanent, they're so often the source of trouble.

Whether it's a particularly bad ink job or a spelling mistake, there's always one story or another doing the rounds online, and Brittany Lewin, from the US, found herself at the center of one.

Lewin gained a following on TikTok by sharing videos of herself hanging out with friends and generally living life, but one thing that often featured in her videos was her pineapple tattoo, located on her forearm.

Inked in black, the tattoo shows the fruit surrounded by a triangle - and to Lewin, this was apparently all that it showed.

However, she eventually discovered that for some viewers, the innocent pineapple had a whole other meaning.

In a video posted on her channel, Lewin explained that her friend had indicated that her tattoo wasn't as innocent as it looked as she prompted her to Google it.

Brittany Lewin had no idea what the tattoo meant.

Upon doing so, Lewin was stunned when she found out that the 'upside down' pineapple, which is what it became when she moved her arm, is a signal for swingers.

In a screenshot of a text conversation, her friend says: "It's still going to make me giggle, I only just found out what an upside-down pineapple means."

To which Lewin replied: "Wait what? Googling right now."

She shared her reaction in real-time on the video, with a caption which read: "When you realise you've made a mistake."

Though Lewin was none the wiser to the tattoo before her friend pointed it out, they weren't the only one to spot the secret code Lewin had unknowingly been handing out.

Brittany said she'd made a 'mistake' with her tattoo.

Commenting on the post, one person admitted: "I’ve thought this every video I’ve seen of you. I just thought 'each to their own'."

Another wrote: "I always thought you and your partner were just into some extra fun stuff. I'm sad that you didn't actually know."

Lewin isn't the only one to have accidentally made a statement about her sex life with a pineapple tattoo, as one Reddit user previously revealed when he spoke out about getting a pineapple tattooed on his leg.

The man had the tattoo inked with a banner reading 'I know you know'.

The Redditor had intended this to be a reference to the TV series Psych, but of course, now we all know what some people could have taken it to mean.
