Coming back home from college can often be an odd experience - it's the first time you're seeing people in months, sometimes after having a lot of life-changing experiences.
But sometimes you can come back from college to find that things have changed in a way that you weren't expecting.
Maybe you have the crushing moment of finding out your childhood bedroom has been turned into a games room or art studio. Or perhaps you return to find your old things boxed ups ready for you to either claims or say goodbye to.

For one student though, it was a bit more than just seeing her old bedroom redecorated, as her father's relationship with his wife - her step-mom - had changed somewhat.
The pair were still together, but had decided to have an open marriage.
Cue the sound of slurping tea puncturing the excruciating silence.

Taking to TikTok, the woman explained: “Coming home from college to find out my parents are in a polyamorous relationship with another couple."
In the caption, she wrote: “Ready to head on back to my dorm room.”

She also revealed that her father had gone into this open relationship with his third wife since her mom, adding that her mom had been 'the first call' she made when she heard the news.
Responding to comments of support, she wrote in a follow-up video: "Thank u for the support guys, but the parents referenced in my video are actually my dad and step mom."
She added: "Don't worry I have been emotionally trained to handle this crazy sh*t my entire life and am fully chilling at college again."
Thanksgiving could get interesting.

Needless to say, people were piling in with their comments about their experiences with their parents making changes to their relationships.
One person wrote: "Dude my parents are in a throuple!! my dad and step mom are dating their 27 year old masseuse."
Another replied: "Sorry that your life events made you used to stuff like this. Sorry life made you this resilient. You deserve the best and nothing less of it."

And a third shared: "Me when my dad got divorced and started dating woman 2-3 years older than me."
The first video her dancing has received some 1.5 million views since she posted it, with the follow up video clocking up an impressive 100k views as people came back for the update.
That's life though. It's all swingers and roundabouts.
