It turns out there an absolutely hilarious reason why Andre the Giant hated fighting Spiderman actor 'Macho Man' Randy Savage.
Hall of Fame inductee Andre – who's real name is André René Roussimoff – was apparently not a big fan of Randy Poffo.
Although both wrestlers are no longer with us - 'Macho Man' passed in 2011, with Andre passing in 1993 - their legacy and more importantly their stories will live on forever.

Apart from one televised fight, it's safe to say the pair barely fought one another on the big stage and there seems to be a good reason why.
Pat Laprade, author of The Eighth Wonder Of The World: The True Story of Andre The Giant, gave us an insight into Andre's relationship with some of WWE's biggest figures.
In 2020, as a guest on the Talk is Jericho podcast, Laprade says that Andre '100 percent' didn't like Savage.

And he says it's all because of baby oil...
He explained: "I talked to Lanny Poffo, Randy’s brother about it and he said it was 100 percent true.
"The reason why was Randy was wrestling with baby oil on and Andre didn’t like it one bit.
"Even Lanny tried to tell Randy, why not skip the baby oil when you are wrestling Andre and Randy said he didn’t want to make any exceptions.

"The reason behind it was it was hard for Andre to take a shower when he went back to his hotel room because the showers in the hotels were not made for a person of his size.
"Some nights he would prefer to just stay at the bar alone at night and keep drinking rather than go back to his room and do nothing.
"It would be hard for us to get rid of all that baby oil, let alone Andre who had trouble just getting in the shower to begin with.

"I don’t think Randy understood that and Andre probably never explained it to him because he was too proud or he wanted Andre to find the explanation himself.
"He really didn’t like Randy."
Out of all of the possible reasons not to like someone, I reckon no one could have possibly guessed that.

But yeah, in case you forgot, because I certainly did, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage actually featured in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man as Bonesaw, who fought Spider-Man early in his superhero life in a cage match for 3,000 dollars.
Bonesaw was defeated, as you might remember.
