Anya Taylor-Joy is apparently not too keen on cooking.
The star of the food-themed dark comedy-horror film The Menu confessed she’s a complete novice when it comes to whipping up meals in the kitchen at the movie’s premiere in New York.

It turns out she’s capable of boiling water but don’t expect a three-course meal from the Queen’s Gambit star let alone any appearances on Come Dine With Me.
“It’s just more that it doesn’t really interest me,” the 26-year-old actor told Page Six. “I’m not going to lie to you. I feel like we have delivery, we have take out.”
That’s the most relatable thing we’ve ever heard a Hollywood star say.

On the other hand, Taylor-Joy’s co-star Nicholas Hoult said he’s slightly better in the kitchen but he’s not exactly a foodie.
“I’m reasonable, I can follow a recipe,” the Warm Bodies star confessed.
The pair’s new film stars Taylor-Joy and Hoult as a dysfunctional couple who travel to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant run by a well-known and extremely divisive celebrity chef. Little do they know the chef and his restaurant are filled with grizzly surprises as their date turns into a night of terror.
The other guests at Hawthorn include three tech bros, an older wealthy couple and repeat clients, a renowned restaurant critic and her slavish magazine editor plus a famous middle-aged movie star and his assistant.

The evening unfolds with lots of tension as the courses are served and devoured by the guests and a few secrets are spilt, too.
Slowik’s presentation of the menu also spooks his guests as it becomes abundantly clear something is awry.
Taylor-Joy and Hoult star alongside Ralph Fiennes as Julian Slowik, the gruesome chef and Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, John Leguizamo, Reed Birney, Paul Adelstein, Aimee Carrero, Arturo Castro, Rob Yang and Mark St. Cyr

The film was directed by Mark Mylod, the British television and film director who is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed series Succession and Shameless.
The Menu premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and was met with acclaim.
It has a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the website's consensus reading: "While its social commentary relies on basic ingredients, The Menu serves up black comedy with plenty of flavour."
The Menu is out in cinemas on Friday, 18 November.
