Brazilian actor Thommy Schiavo has died from falling off a balcony not long after drinking with friends.
Schiavo’s father, Horacio Ramos, has spoken of the heartbreak after losing his son under such tragic circumstances.
The star was aged just 39, and is survived by his wife Angra Monaliza and his one-year-old daughter.

Thommy Schiavo was most known for his role in soap TV show Pantanal as João Zoinho and starred in 34 episodes. Other fans may remember him from the TV series Paradise City, where he starred in 69 episodes.
The Mato Grosso Civil Police confirmed that the actor died on Saturday morning and the moment was caught on surveillance footage.
According to authorities, the actor was sitting and lying on the balcony floor of his second-floor apartment in Cuiaba, the capital of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, before he fell.

Police said the footage showed he got up from his seat and went to lie on the floor, but lost his balance and fell over the balcony.
Schiavo reportedly fell 4 meters and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have said prior to his fall, Schiavo was drinking with friends at a convenience store near his home.
Speaking to TV Fronteira, the actors father spoke of how close a relationship they had.

“It's a painful moment, it hurts so much that there's no way to explain it. We spoke every day, every day it was 'good morning, good afternoon', he would call me for anything, I would call him for anything.
"He was such a dear person. Thommy was a fantastic person, loved by everyone."
On social media, many of the actor's fans remarked at how saddened they were by the news.

“Rest in peace, my friend! I found you those days itself, I was happy, with pretty cool plans... God Got You !!" another said.
As well as fans, some of Schiavo’s former co-workers and those in the industry offered their tributes.
Pantanal co-star Leandro Lima said: "I’m still stunned, trying to digest all of this. Thommy was a guy with a huge heart, always ready to help, he loved the countryside, animals and taking care of people. [I’m] Remembering him inviting everyone to watch a beautiful sunset."

And actress Fernanda Paes Leme posted: "I met him on the soap opera Paraíso…may he rest in peace!"
