Daniel Radcliffe is becoming a dad with partner Erin Darke expecting a baby

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is expecting his first baby with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke.

The actor, 33, will be becoming a dad, after a rep confirmed the news to US Weekly.

The pair have been dating for more than 10 years after meeting on the set of the movie Kill Your Darlings, which they both starred in.

Radcliffe is best known for starring as Harry Potter in the one of cinema's biggest franchises, but has devoted the last decade appearing in passion projects such as Swiss Army Man, Guns Akimbo and most recently played Weird Al Yankovic in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

His girlfriend Erin Darke is also an actor, most notably appearing in Amazon Prime Video's series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The pair recently acted together in a series Radcliffe stars in and executive produces called Miracle Workers.

He opened up on the experience, saying: "We definitely like [working together], but it's not something we want to do all the time."

"Hopefully we'll get to do more in the future, but we also both write. So maybe we'd write something together at some point, and that would be cool."

They're known for generally keeping a low profile with their private life, but Radcliffe has previously spoken to People Magazine about the first time he met Darke, joking about the fact they had to share a sex scene in the movie they were starring in.

"It'll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other. Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting."

He expanded on the experience to Playboy Magazine: "There's no acting going on - not from my end, anyway. There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character."

"She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble."

He's the second of the iconic Harry Potter trio to become a parent, as Rupert Grint welcomed a daughter called Wednesday G. Grint in 2020 with his partner Georgia Groome. And yes, in case you're wondering, she was named after Wednesday Addams, as the actor 'hesitantly confirmed to Jimmy Fallon.

He said: "It's a good name, isn't it? I'm always hesitant to say it was The Addams Family, but it was, yeah, kind of The Addams Family. Just always loved the name, it's a good name, memorable."
