Internet users have been left baffled by Drake's apparent response to the conflict between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Numerous celebrities and members of the public have taken to social media to share comments, memes and videos about the moment Smith unexpectedly slapped Rock at the Academy Awards on Sunday, 27 March, after the presenter made a joke about Jada Pinkett's Smith hair loss.
Drake apparently joined the conversation with a post on his Instagram Story in the aftermath of the events, though the lack of context around the post has left viewers baffled.

The image showed Smith in character from live-action version of the Disney film Aladdin, in which he played the Genie. The image showed Smith smirking and holding his hands together while dressed in his Genie costume and sporting a goatee tied with a gold bead – but the relation between the scene and the events at the Oscars is less than clear.
Anyone who's seen Aladdin, whether animated or live-action, will know the Genie resides in a magic lamp and grants three wishes to the person who rubs it. In the Disney film, he allows Aladdin to become a prince in order to win over Princess Jasmine. Again, a storyline seemingly completely unrelated to Smith slapping Rock across the face.
Social media users took to Twitter to question the move, with one person sharing a screenshot of Drake's post and writing: "Why did Drake post this in his stories?"
Another confused viewer commented: "Drake a comedian man why did he post Will Smith as the genie on his insta story," while a third questioned: "Why did Drake put that genie picture of Will Smith on his story?"
Though Drake didn't appear to follow up with any further explanation for his response, other celebrities were not so cryptic.

50 Cent shared a number of posts referring to Smith and Rock at the Oscars, at one point claiming, "You have to win Oscars to do this kinda sh*t," while Nicki Minaj expressed disbelief Rock hadn't been aware of Jada's alopecia prior to making his joke.
"I love Chris Rock. I don’t think he would’ve made that joke had he known what Jada recently shared – but between him & the whole team @ the Oscars you mean to tell me not ONE of y’all heard this woman just share this heartbreaking story?"
Smith has since apologised to Rock for his actions at the awards show, claiming his actions were 'not indicative' of the man he wants to be.
