Actor Ed Begley Jr and his daughter Hayden Carson Begley attended the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles tonight (March 12), but opted to keep up a family tradition when it came to getting to the Dolby Theatre.
The father-daughter duo has made a powerful point on the event's champagne carpet, making sure to let people know how they got to be at the biggest night in Hollywood.
Alongside his roles in Better Call Saul and a long streak of movies, Begley is also known for his environmental activism.

He and his daughter have been photographed at recent Oscars ceremonies posing on the carpet as they hold their subway cards for everyone to see.
The reason is very simple, as the Begleys reportedly walk to the Oscars rather than choosing to ride in a limousine like many of their fellow celebrities.
This year was no different, as both Ed and Hayden held their cards to reiterate there are other ways to get to the Dolby that have a lesser impact on the environment.

The father and daughter reportedly walked from a nearby station as the one closest to the Dolby is normally temporarily shut during the Oscars.
Begley and Hayden started walking to the Oscars in 2014, with the actor also riding his bike to the event the following year, absolutely unfazed by the rain.
"Taking the subway to the @TheAcademy Awards this year w daughter @HaydenBegley ...just like we did in 2014," Begley posted in 2018.

"Never mind the rain. I'm riding my bike to the The Academy Awards. Pardon the helmet hair," he joked in 2015.
Begley Jr. starred in movies An Officer and a Gentleman, This Is Spinal Tap and The Accidental Tourist. On TV, the actor's biggest role was that of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on medical drama St. Elsewhere, which earned him six Emmy nods and a Golden Globe nomination.
On the small screen, he also co-hosted a green living reality show with his wife Rachelle Carson, Living with Ed, aired between 2007 and 2010.
More recently, Begley Jr. appeared on sitcom The Office, Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie and The Big Bang Theory prequel spin-off Young Sheldon.

Acting runs in Begley's family, as his father Ed was an acclaimed performer who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1962 for Sweet Bird of Youth. He also appeared in cult films like Sidney Lumet's 12 Angry Men and The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
