Elon Musk has revealed that a 'crazy stalker' has attacked his car in LA.

The Twitter boss took to the social media platform to reveal that a car carrying his young son was 'followed' by a 'crazy stalker (thinking it was me)'.

Take a look at the alleged 'stalker' below:

"Last night, car carrying lil X in LA was followed by crazy stalker (thinking it was me), who later blocked car from moving & climbed onto hood," Musk wrote.

The billionaire uploaded the video above, asking his followers if 'anyone recognize this person or car?'.

The 51-year-old also said he would be taking legal action against Jack Sweeney - the university student who's been tracking Elon Musk's private jet, claiming he put his family in danger.

The 19-year-old student from Florida is the coder behind the Twitter account @ElonJet, which has now been suspended from the platform.

"Legal action is being taken against Sweeney & organizations who supported harm to my family," he added.

Musk says he's cracking down on Twitter 'doxxing', which discloses another person's whereabouts or identity.

"Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation," he said.

"This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info.

"Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn’t a safety problem, so is OK."

Some users were questioning the Twitter boss for sharing a video of the alleged 'stalker' without their consent.

However the Twitter rulebook clears this up: "You may not publish or post other people's private information without their express authorization and permission.

"We also prohibit threatening to expose private information or incentivizing others to do so.

"In addition, you may not share private media, such as images or videos of private individuals, without their consent.

"However, we recognise that there are instances where users may share images or videos of private individuals, who are not public figures, as part of a newsworthy event or to further public discourse on issues or events of public interest.

"In such cases, we may allow the media to remain on the platform."

Musk has controversially made a point of 'free speech' being a feature on Twitter, saying: "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.

"I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.

"Twitter has tremendous potential - I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."
