Elon Musk made a short comment about Jesus on social media, and people think it could be the start of something.
The tech billionaire took to his X account, where he explained his religious beliefs, after a user wrote a post in which they said: “Someone needs to evangelize Elon Musk. Who will lead him to Christ?”
In response, Musk replied: "I believe in the teachings of Jesus."
The comment had some interesting responses, with some people claiming that it could signify some sort of revelation.

One person commented: “Something really really bad is about to come out about him,” while another wrote: “He said this for a very long time. He’s not a Christian but he believes in the teachings of Christ.”
And a third asked: "Agreeing with teachings and believing that Jesus is the Son of God sent to redeem our sins is 2 different things. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?"

Others defended Musk, with one commenting: "Could also be something beautiful."
While another wrote: "He has said this several times over the years. He agrees with Jesus's teaching."
What has Elon Musk previously said about faith?
The Tesla CEO has previously opened up about his thoughts on religion, writing on X in 2022: "Jesus taught love, kindness and forgiveness. I used to think that turning the other cheek was weak & foolish, but I was the fool for not appreciating its profound wisdom."
Meanwhile, in 2024, during an interview with Jordan Peters, he added: “While I’m not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise.”
He has also described himself as being 'cultural Christian', telling Tucker Carlson the same year: "I’m culturally Christian I grew up Christian, I mean I was Anglican, was baptized you know, went to Sunday school."
Musk has previously explained that he lost his religion around the age of 14 when he discovered ideas about the universe.

In 2013, he told The Office's Rainn Wilson that while he acknowledged there were things humans cannot understand about the world and universe, he was 'less convinced that there's some superconsciousness watching over our every movement and kind of evaluating it against some criteria and deciding whether we're going to one place or another when we die.
"I think that's unlikely.'
However, around a decade later, he began to speak about connecting with some religious teachings, explaining to German politician Alice Weidel in 2025: "I'm open to the idea of God… If you say, where did the universe come from? How is it created? I suppose there would be some entity that you could call God."
And in a 2025 podcast appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, Musk spoke about 'the creator' when asked who he looked up to the most.
When asked if he was referring to God, he continued: "Well, I believe this universe came for something. People have different labels."
