The saga of who will be Elon Musk's new CEO of Twitter has finally come to an end after he announced that a former NBCUniversal executive would be taking over the platform.
Speculation started to gather after Linda Yaccarino left the network with immediate effect earlier this week.
Without naming Yaccarino as CEO, Musk tweeted on Thursday that he had found the right person to take control of Twitter.

"She will be starting in ~6 weeks!"

A day later, on 12 May, Musk confirmed Yaccarino's arrival.
"I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!" he tweeted.
"@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.
"Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app."

In the tweets above, Musk was referring to Twitter's merge with X Corp.
Prior to purchasing the platform for 44 billion US dollars in October, he revealed plans to turn Twitter into 'X, the everything app'.
In a later tweet, Musk said: “The commitment to open source transparency and accepting a wide range of viewpoints remains unchanged.”

Well, it seems that the new Twitter CEO is definitely up for the challenge in a response to Musk's tweets.
"Thank you @elonmusk!," she wrote.
"I’ve long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future.
"I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!"

Yaccarino added: "I see I have some new followers... I’m not as prolific as @elonmusk (yet!), but I’m just as committed to the future of this platform.
"Your feedback is VITAL to that future. I’m here for all of it.
"Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!"
Musk made it clear previously that in the search for a new CEO, 'free speech' remains a 'top priority' regardless of who the next boss is.
After his takeover, Musk said: "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.
"I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.
"Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."
