Emma Watson revealed that she’s been drinking wine since she was a child.
Instead of the Goblet of Fire though, the Harry Potter actor was served water with wine from a young age as part of her surprising upbringing.
In a recent interview, Watson even admitted that she didn’t know ‘alcohol was for getting wasted’ because it was so normalised at home.

The 33-year-old’s admission is even more surprising given her new business venture.
After appearing on the big screen for over 20 decades, the Harry Potter actor has now turned her attention to younger brother Alex’s gin brand.
Named Renais, which means rebirth in English, the carbon-neutral company uses grape skins to produce the tipple.

The business even named a cocktail after Watson, who is in charge of art direction at the luxury vineyard.
It comes after the Little Women actor decided to take a break from Hollywood in 2018, admitting that she ‘wasn’t very happy’.
"I think I felt a bit caged," she told the Financial Times in a recent interview, where she reflected on her time in the spotlight.
"I had to go out and sell something that I really didn't have very much control over. To stand in front of a film and have every journalist be able to say, 'How does this align with your viewpoint?'," she revealed, adding: "It was very difficult to have to be the face and the spokesperson for things where I didn't get to be involved in the process."

Now Watson and her brother are following in their father’s footsteps, as they create their own alcohol brand.
Her dad, Chris, brought his first vineyard in 1999 which is where Renais is also based.
The Beauty and the Beast actor said it’s this idyllic childhood in the French countryside which helped normalise alcohol with Watson regularly being given water with wine from a young age.

When she reached school, Watson struggled to understand why their so much fuss around drinking, revealing that she didn’t know ‘alcohol was for getting wasted’.
"I was quite surprised when other children were very excited about the idea of getting their hands on alcohol," she confessed, telling the FT: "Dad had been giving me water with wine at lunch since I was a child. I didn't think alcohol was for getting wasted."
She joked: "So I was quite confused when I was a teenager and everyone thought alcohol was this forbidden fruit."

Though many parents may be hesitant to put this into practice, it seems to have worked out for Watson - who didn’t go off the rails like other child stars.
