Russian internet star Hasbulla has been praised for his efforts after he shared a video of himself learning English.

Whether they speak the same language or not, Hasbulla has gained fans across the globe since he first started posting to Instagram in November 2020.

The 18-year-old is known mostly for posting pranks and spoof videos about Mixed Martial Arts, though he gained thousands of likes on Instagram last month with a video in which he practised speaking English.

Check it out below:

In the clip, Hasbulla can be seen watching someone off-camera as they say the phrase 'next stop, January 17'. He nods as he hears how the words are pronounced before giving it a go for himself, nailing the first two words before seemingly losing his confidence on the word 'January'.

The internet star burst out laughing and covered his face with his hands, but soon tried to get back on the horse as he began repeating the phrase again, before looking to the person off-screen for confirmation on how to continue.

As they reiterated the words 'January 17', Hasbulla raised his eyebrows in apparent disbelief over the pronunciation and responded in Russian, prompting those in the room to burst out laughing.

Though he didn't quite manage to make it all the way through the phrase, Hasbulla gave it a solid effort and received praise for trying from viewers, with one English-speaking commenter responding to his clip to write: 'He's trying so hard to communicate with us! Gotta Give Credit For That.'

Another shared the clapping hands emoji in the response, writing: 'Nice try... keep going you can do it'.

One fan even went as far as to offer their services as Hasbulla's 'official English teacher', asking where they could apply and stressing they would 'do it for free if [they] get to hang out with him every day'. Another acknowledged that while English might be 'easy' for them, they were 'sure speaking any other language would be different and difficult', adding, 'love this'.

As well as having a number of English fans, Hasbulla has received support from Russian MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov after he re-enacted his iconic UFC weigh-in. Since posting the viral video, Hasbulla and Nurmagomedov have formed a friendship and now appear in photos and videos together fairly frequently.
