Hilaria Baldwin announced that she and her husband Alec Baldwin had welcomed their seventh child together last week.
Although she was quickly met with backlash, with many people sharing their frustration over the fact Hilaria had picked a Spanish name for the baby, despite the criticism she’s faced in the past for ‘faking’ her heritage.
And the doting mum’ll no doubt be at the behest of the internet once again as now, she’s revealed the meaning behind her new tot’s name, which, for those not in the loop, is Ilaria. Watch Hilaria's latest baby video below:
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (28 September), Hilaria shared a new video of her newborn in which she could be seen stroking Ilaria’s head.

Alongside the clip, Hilaria penned a lengthy caption and candidly discussed how she’s finding life with another baby, also touching upon the tot’s name.
“Our names mean ‘happy’, and to share this connection with you feels like an honour to me,” Hilaria penned.
She added: “I named you in honour of happiness and the mothers in our family who came before you. Our name means happy in all languages.
“A few letters different here and there…same meaning. Hija mía, sometimes we have to lean into happiness, choose the warm and supportive people, because there are so many, and dial down the negativity to absorb as little of it as possible.”

Announcing the news of her daughter’s birth in an Instagram post shared over the weekend, Hilaria wrote: “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true.”
After learning the name, people took to Twitter to vent their frustration, writing posts like: “Alec Baldwin's wife faking being Spanish is so crazy.
"Changing her name from Hillary to Hilaria, naming all 7 of their kids with those roots, pretending to forget the english word for ‘cucumber’, faking an accent. She should’ve changed her name to hilarious instead."

Back in 2020, it emerged Hilaria was actually from Boston, not Spain, and used to go by the name Hilary.
At the time, Hilaria addressed the criticism when speaking to the New York Times, saying people had been ‘confused in some ways by people misrepresenting me’.
Of her relationship with Spain, she added: "It would be maddening to do such a tight timeline of everything. Sometimes there was school involved. Sometimes it was vacation. It was such a mix, mishmash, is that the right word? Like a mix of different things."
