Hilary Duff appeared to lash out at a fan after their response to the announcement How I Met Your Father has been canceled.
Yep, that’s correct, the How I Met Your Mother spin-off series will not be returning.
Unlike the original CBS show which ran for nine seasons all the way from 2005 to 2014, the Hulu original only had two seasons from 2022 to 2023.

With Duff as its lead, the show also starred Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall as well as Tom Ainsley, Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, and Tien Tran.
There were, of course, also cameos from the original show with the likes of Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris as well as appearances from the likes of Josh Peck and Leighton Meester.
However, it seems none of that was enough as it was confirmed this week it has now been canceled.

Variety shared the news of the show’s end on their Instagram, with the comments flooded by fans who were disappointed by the news.
One wrote: “What a bummer, this show had a lot of potential.”
Plenty gave long ‘nooooo’s as one fan put: “I’M FURIOUS. THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW.”
Another added: “Stop it, I absolutely loved it.”

While a fourth begged: “Pls this needs to get picked up by another network.”
But some others weren’t as surprised, as one person commented: “I’ll miss Hilary Duff and Francia Raisa but the show wasn’t even close to what HIMYM was.”
Another said: “Tried to watch it… it was so cringe… who thought this would ever be a good idea? Everything was done in the original, they covered it all…”

And Duff took it upon herself to hit back, writing to the comment: “You have 63 followers,” and a smiley-face emoji.
There was no further interaction after this, but fans did slam the actor for her response.
One called it ‘so arrogant’ as they added: “Lmao maybe you shouldn’t judge success by the number of people that follow you.”
And another even wrote: “I’ve been a die hard fan of yours since Casper but that was so out of touch for you to judge someone based on how many followers they have… Yikes Hilary you can do better than that.”

But many other fans are far more distracted by the all-important question we assume we’ll now never get the answer to: “Can you at least tell us who the father is?”
