Hilary Duff has called out Aaron Carter’s memoir in which the late singer appears to suggest she lost her virginity to him on her 13th bithday.
Carter was found dead in his home at the age of 34 last week and he dated the How I Met Your Father star on and off between 2000 and 2003.
His memoir, Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life – which will be released posthumously – claims the former teen stars lost their virginity to one another.
An excerpt from the book was published in the New York Post which claims the pair had sex for the first time in a hotel on her 13th birthday.

The excerpt reads: “Hilary and I lost our virginity to each other at a hotel… in LA. I think it was her birthday, maybe her 13th [September 28 2000], but I don’t remember. Her friends walked in, and we just yelled at them to get out."
Duff, now 35, has slammed the book by branding it a ‘money grab’.
She said: "It’s really sad that within a week of Aaron’s death, there’s a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalise on this tragedy without taking appropriate time or care to fact check the validity of his work.
"To water down Aaron’s life story to what seems to be unverified click-bait for profit is disgusting. In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab."

The unfinished book was co-written by Carter and Andy Symonds over a three-year period and will be released in its unfinished state later this month, the New York Post reports.
Carter’s management team have come out in support of Duff after she blasted the memoir.
“This is a time for mourning and reflection, not heartless money grabs and attention seeking. We would ask the parties responsible to remove the aforementioned content and that no further content be released without approval from his family, friends, and associates,” Taylor Helgeson, of Big Umbrella Management, said in a statement to the New York Post on Thursday.

Duff previously shared a tribute to Carter on her Instagram page upon news of his death.
"For Aaron - I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world,” she wrote.
"You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply.

"Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
Carter’s death was confirmed by a representative of his team on 5 November after Los Angeles police officers found his body at his home in Lancaster, California.
Carter's family are now investigating the cause of death of the singer, who rose to fame at the age of nine and was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.
