Jack Nicholson fans have rushed to his defence after unflattering pictures of the 85-year-old star circulated online.
The actor, best known for his roles films like in Batman and The Shining, hadn't been seen in public for eighteen months before he was recently photographed on the balcony of his Beverly Hills home.
Nicholson's picture, which showed him looking sleepy and wearing an orange t-shirt, appeared in a British tabloid where he was described as looking 'disheveled'.

One user said: "Jack Nicholson is still COOLER than most of us."
The actor was last seen in October 2021 alongside his son, Ray, sitting courtside at a LA Lakers basketball game.
Although Nicholson has kept a low profile in recent years, he is still held up as one of the best actors of his generation.

The Shining star is also known for being vocal about his personal beliefs and has previously supported many Democratic candidates for president.
He even attempted to stage a boycott of the 2003 Oscars to protest the US invasion of Iraq which was beginning around the time of the ceremony.
The boycott ultimately didn't amount to much, as Adrien Brody, nominated for his role in The Pianist, was adamant that he was going to attend.
Reflecting on the proposed protest, Brody said: "I don't know about you guys but I'm going.
