Leto is well known for his intense method acting and earlier this year, production was delayed because he simply 'acted so hard' on the set of Morbius.
The movie's director, Daniel Espinosa, said Leto was highly dedicated to accurately portraying the physical limitations of his character, Dr Michael Morbius.
He would use crutches even when the cameras weren’t rolling, which delayed the production schedule because it would take him 45 minutes to go to the bathroom.

He crew eventually decided to transport the actor in a wheelchair to speed up the lengthy bathroom trips.
Espinoa told Uproxx: “I think that what Jared thinks, what Jared believes, is that somehow the pain of those movements, even when he was playing normal Michael Morbius, he needed, because he’s been having this pain his whole life.
“Even though he's alive and strong, it has to be a difference. Hey, man, it’s people’s processes.”
Despite the actor holding up production, Espinoa said he respected the actor’s choice to remain in character.
“All of the actors believe in processes. And you, as director, you support whatever makes it as good as you can be,” he said.
