Jay Leno hadn’t heard of the rumors surrounding his recent injuries, but he had the perfect response to the speculation.
The comedian was recently on Bill Maher’s podcast, Club Random, and found out what social media has been saying about him.
Back in November, Leno revealed that he had broken his wrist and sustained significant bruising on his face and body after falling down a 60-foot hill outside his hotel.

However, just like most things on internet, people weren’t buying it, and had their own wild theories on what happened.
The prevailing theory was that Leno had accurred some gambling debts and was beaten up the mob or gangsters.
On December 27, Bill Maher questioned Leno about the rumors on his podcast, and the comedian pretty much dismissed them as nonsense.

Leno Said: “I love the idea that the mob would drive to Greenberg, Pennsylvania, wait outside the Hampton Inn on a sleety kind of day to throw me down a hill.”
Maher interrupted to joke and clarify that the theory goes that Leno’s hill accident was actually just a cover story for the mob beating him up.
He also brought up the theories surrounding Leno’s previous injuries, notably when he fell off his motorcycle in January 2023.
Leno sustained two broken ribs, broke his kneecaps and a collarbone after being clotheslined while riding his motorcycle through a parking lot.

Leno also claimed he ‘got a new face’ when his face caught fire at his garage back in late 2022 as he was working underneath a car.
Leno seemed to dismiss the conspiracies surrounding his injuries and had a pretty wisecrack response to the suggestions.
He said: “Well, I like the idea that they wouldn’t just take one of my cars for the gambling debt."

Leno has long been an automobile enthusiast and is known to have hundreds of collectible cars in his personal garage worth millions of dollars.
Which makes sense; probably a lot easier to hand over a car or sell it for gambling money than take a beating by criminals.
During the podcast, he also spoke on his feelings towards gambling, stating he simply hates losing so doesn’t really do it.
He said: “I don't gamble.

"Losing 100 bucks makes me feel stupider than winning one thousand makes me feel good. Because I go, ‘I could have taken my wife to dinner.'"
So yeah, probably not a good idea to take just about every theory on the internet seriously.
