Matthew Perry's detailing of his relationship with Julia Roberts in his new book has reportedly left the Pretty Woman actor 'cringing'.
In his tell-all autobiography Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry opened up about his time on one of the biggest sitcoms on television, his struggles with addiction, and his complicated love life - which included a brief romance with Julia Roberts.
The two started seeing each other back in 1995, when Roberts guest starred in the hit TV series as Susie Moss, who went to grade school with Perry's character Chandler Bing. Remember this?
The couple wound up dating for a few months following her appearance on the show and, almost 30 years later, he's shared some of the details with fans.

According to his autobiography, Perry claims he sent Roberts 'three dozen red roses' after he learned that she would only appear in Friends if her character could be linked to his.
When the roses went down a treat, Perry and Roberts got to know one another over a five-hour phone call, and soon after, 'a relationship began'.
But after a whirlwind romance, Perry claims that he ended things with the Notting Hill star after convincing himself that she was going to leave him.
“Dating Julia Roberts had been too much for me", he wrote.

"I had been constantly certain that she was going to break up with me. Why would she not? I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unlovable.
“So instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts,” he sadly admitted.
Apparently, though, Perry's decision to open up about his love life hasn't gone down well with his ex.

Roberts, who is now happily married to Daniel Moder, is apparently 'embarrassed and disappointed that Matthew has detailed their fling'.
Speaking to Closer, a source explained: "It smacks of Matthew looking for glam soundbites to fill his book and that’s not how Julia rolls.
"She’s very old school about her privacy - you never see her kiss and tell about her exes. It made her cringe."
Despite Robert's supposed disappointment, the source did note that she was 'very pleased to see Matthew healthy and sober'.

They continued: "She knows how badly he struggled and applauds that he’s shown the courage to get help and encourage others to learn from his own cautionary tale. Julia just wishes he hadn’t dragged her into his life story."
Roberts shares three children with her husband, who she married back in July 2002.
Meanwhile, Perry split from his fiancée Molly Hurwitz in June 2021, though details of his current love life haven't been made public.
