After a string of controversial and anti-semitic statements, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West has been banned from Instagram - and people are rejoicing.
Meta has confirmed that a restriction has been placed on Ye's Instagram page for the next 30 days.
“Suspend it next,” one happy Twitter user said in response to the news.
“Thank God,” tweeted another, while a third reacted with “The world is healing.”

A fourth person simply wrote: “As they should.”
Restricting is a bit different from being deactivated as the 45-year-old’s page is still accessible. Instagram usually places a restriction on accounts if it believes that a user is using the profile incorrectly. This can range from mass liking, commenting or messaging to sharing violent or harmful content, which is not allowed in the Instagram community guidelines.
A spokesperson for Meta, the company that owns Instagram, confirmed the restriction in a statement shared with Complex on Monday.
They said: “We deleted content from @kanyewest for violating our policies and placed a restriction on the account.

“We may place restrictions on accounts that repeatedly break our rules, for example, we may temporarily restrict them from posting, commenting, or sending DMs.”
The restriction is reported to be for 30 days.
However, the specific posts which violated the community guidelines were not mentioned in the statement, Complex reports.

The restriction comes as thousands of Instagram users have reported their accounts showing as being suspended.
Instagram has confirmed the site is having a blip, however the restriction of Ye’s account is no accident.
The 'Bound 2' rapper had previously said he would go 'death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE' on Twitter, a move which got him banned from the social media site.

He'd also been kicked off Instagram for saying: "Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me."
West appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored where he admitted that his comments were racist but insisted he didn’t regret them.
His Instagram account had been previously restricted on Sunday, 9th October.
He returned to the platform with an Instagram Story and a now-deleted post on 26 October where he seemed to address the fallout with Adidas and Gap, who dropped him after his comments.

In a statement released on 25 October, Adidas announced it was cutting ties with West, who legally goes by the name Ye, over some of his recent comments.
The company stated: "Adidas does not tolerate anti-semitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.
“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect."
