Katy Perry has opened up about being sober for five weeks after making a pact with fiancé, Orlando Bloom, to quit drinking for three months.
The 'Fireworks' singer and 38-year-old mom was speaking at a cocktail event at artisanal cocktail bar, Mister Paradise, in New York City, according to People magazine.
The artist, 38, jokingly pretended to cry when she opened up about not drinking and said: "I've been sober for five weeks today... I've been doing a pact with my partner and I want to quit."
The American Idol judge stopped by the curated cocktail event with her fellow panel members Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest when she explained why she wouldn't be partaking.

After Bryan playfully asked if she was caving, the 'I Kissed a Girl' star responded begrudgingly: "No, girl! I can't cave. I made a promise. Three months."
Luckily for the new mom, the bar stocked De Soi, the singer's line of sparkling, non-alcoholic apéritifs with natural adaptogens (herbs, roots and other plants, like mushrooms, that help manage stress) that she launched last year.
The name loosely translates in French to 'self control' and the drinks come in cans or bottles in three mouth-watering, non-alcoholic flavours: 'Golden Hour', 'Champagne Dreams' and 'Purple Lune'.

Katy co-founded and co-created the brand with master distiller, Morgan McLachlan, and shared her favourite cocktail recipe with the crowd using the citrusy Golden Hour flavour.
On the American Idol theme, it's called 'The Golden Ticket' and features a refreshing blend of mint, cucumber and rosemary.
Filming for season 21 of American Idol is currently underway, and premiered in February of this year in the US on ABC.
Katy is engaged to British actor Orlando Bloom, 46 and they are parents to two-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, who they welcomed in August 2020.

Bloom recently spoke to People about Katy being his 'biggest fan' and praised the work that she does as a judge on American Idol.
He said: "I think we support each other because we are fans of one another, you know what I mean?
"What she does is so empowering for young musicians with everything with Idol. Then she can go and put on a powerhouse show in Vegas.

"We support, it's who we are. Katy's a force and we both have these pools we swim in and we recognize each other's pools and we go, 'Hey, I'm over here. We're doing this.' And it's great."
