People reckon that Kelly Clarkson 'went for blood' after she covered 'abcdefu' and put her own spin on the lyrics.

The singer, winner of the first ever season of American Idol, has got a new album on the way but recently took the time to cover the track 'abcdefu', only with some important changes.

During her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, she covered the popular song from artist Gayle, and whichever way you slice it the tune is a breakup song.

Given Clarkson's split from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, her choice of song might have raised a few eyebrows but it was her new spin on the opening line which really had people sure she was calling someone out specifically.

The former couple sorted out their divorce last year, with People reporting that Blackstock received a payment of $1.3 million, along with monthly child support of $45,000 for the couple's two children River and Remington.

Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020 and she'll also have to pay him $115,000 a month in spousal support payments until January 2024.

"Forget you and your dad and the fact that you got half, and my broken heart turn that s**t into art.".

Her choice of lyrics to her cover of the song seem pointed considering that context.

For clarity, the lyrics to 'abcdefu' are supposed to start: "Forget you and your mom and your sister and your job and your broke-down car and the things you call art."

The song goes on in that vein, sparing pretty much nobody from scorn, declaring that they 'can all f**k off' besides the dog.

However, Clarkson's rendition opened with the altered line: "Forget you and your dad and the fact that you got half, and my broken heart turn that s**t into art."

The rest of the cover goes pretty much the same as the original song and Clarkson's fans are sure she was calling out her ex.

Kelly Clarkson changed the lyrics on her version a bit and fans are sure they know what it means.

One person wrote 'yesss drag him', while another commented 'GET THEM, KELLY', demonstrating that even if you're typing in all caps due to enthusiasm it's handy to remember punctuation.

Someone else said Clarkson 'went for blood' with her change of lyrics and emphatically supported her, declaring 'yes queen'.

Another said the singer was putting her ex husband and his father 'on serious blast'

More people asked for the uncensored version of the song so they could hear Clarkson swearing along with the lyrics.

Some were just 'impatiently waiting for her breakup rock album' and hoped that her upcoming album Chemistry would have other tracks as biting as her cover of 'abcdefu'.
