Lil Nas X has received support against a troll who called his 2023 Met Gala look 'disgusting'.

It is the fashion's night in New York City as the biggest celebrities on the planet walk the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Everyone who's anyone has been vying for an invite to the annual event and this year's theme is honoring the late Karl Lagerfeld.

The fashion designing icon died in 2019 served as the creative director of Chanel for decades.

Some have come in actual Chanel gowns that they have worn for Karl in previous campaigns whereas others have done their own spin.

However, Lil Nas X has certainly raised eyebrows with his daring look.

The singer appeared on the red carpet in silver underwear, silver bodypaint, and very high platform heels.

His face and upper body have been adorned with crystals and an intricate mask.

The reaction on social media was mixed, with some people praising him for going well outside the box.

One fan said: "OH he can get it."

Another added: "This will go down in history."

However, one person called it 'disgusting' and while most celebrities will leave Twitter commentary, luckily they have fans who are willing to jump to their defence on their behalf.

The fan account wrote: "I know! It's so disgusting how @LilNasX always looks so amazing."

Nice way to stick it to the trolls.

This year's theme has been titled 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' and the dress code has been described as 'in honor of Karl'.
