Machine Gun Kelly wielded a flamethrower which attracted the attention of a police helicopter, eventually leading to his ‘Project X’ style birthday party being shut down.
MGK - real name Colson Baker - brought the pyro and the party this weekend as he celebrated his 33rd in dramatic style.
The gathering took place at his Encino-based abode (previously owned by Logan Paul) and saw some of his closest friends, including stand-up comedian and 2 Broke Girls creator, Whitney Cummings, make the invite list.

However, the affair erupted into chaos when MGK decided to test out his new lavish birthday gift — a flamethrower.
In footage posted via MGK’s Instagram Stories, the Good Mourning actor can be seen wielding the flamethrower outside before heading into his Los Angeles home with it.
In the clip, the flames that MGK shoots into the night sky look to be a whopping 6ft, and his guests can be heard screaming with awe at the danger.

Via the video, it seems that Cummings, 40, is the one who has purchased the flamethrower for MGK.
He wrote: “Thanks for the gift @whitneycummings clearly I’m responsible enough to have one of these.”
However, in further footage, it looks as if this daring display has caught the eyes of the Los Angeles authorities.
From a video posted on MGK’s Instagram Feed, the flamethrower drew the attention of the police who arrived on the scene via helicopter.

In the short clip, MGK is holding the flamethrower up to the sky while a disembodied voice claims that the ‘party’s over’.
“You guys need to leave,” said the police before they repeated the statement again.
MGK can then be seen turning off his flamethrower before the camera pans to the police helicopter hovering over the party.

The caption of the video, which has already garnered 2.9 million views, reads: “I just told some people to come over.”
The bizarre footage has drawn the attention of celebrities such as American Horror Story actor Zack Villa and The Only Way Is Essex’s, Vas Morgan.
The latter commented: “That was wild,” while Villa wrote: “Haha omg. Party was “lit” …. Get it….?”
Californian podcaster Tal Cooperman likened the scene to something out of 2012’s Project X.

“PROJECT X is what we were going for. And got just that,” he commented.
However, not everyone was impressed by the chaotic party and MGK’s new flamethrowing toy.
One Instagram user took to the post to write: “Dudes like 40 still trying to act 17. So cringe.”
Another said: “How about paying back the money the police force spent to send that helicopter to tell you that you are, in fact, annoying everyone except people you pay to stan you?”
MGK’s reenactment of Project X isn’t the latest party inspired by the film to be shut down.
In March, it was reported that a South London party had to be shut down by police after hundreds of people tried to attend.
