Machine Gun Kelly is pretty well known in the music industry, but what really does spring to mind when you think of the star is his tattoos - which makes it even weirder to see him without them.
Historically speaking, tattoos tend to be pretty permanent, unless you pay the massive (and rather painful) cost of getting them removed or the cheaper one of tattooing over them.
That being said, music star Machine Gun Kelly - real name Colson Baker - has become well-recognized for his serious body art and the additions to them.

So you can imagine the shock when people saw him without them.
Now, he didn't get them lasered off, I can only imagine how painful and time-consuming that would have been, but rather, he had them covered up with cosmetics for the film he was starring in back in 2022, Good Mourning.
The film, written/directed by Kelly and Mod Sun, follows the life of London Clash (played by kelly) who, according to IMDb, is 'a movie star whose world is turned upside down when he must choose between pursuing his one true love and landing a life-changing, starring role in a major motion picture'.

At the time, Kelly expressed his excitement of working with his girlfriend Megan Fox, saying: "I'll always collaborate with Megan."
"I'm madly in love with her — and I'm also a fan," he continued as reported by People.
Pete Davidson, Dove Cameron and Amber Rose are also starred, so as you can imagine it gained a lot of traction on social media.

On Instagram, at the time, Kelly also spoke about his 'intense' preparation for the flick. "I did 5 whole sit ups (and 200 blunts) to prep for my role in Good Mourning..."
Still, it wasn't Kelly's fitness regime that caught the attention of fans - it was how bare his body looked.
And we're not just talking about his lack of clothes, because Kelly has his trademark tattoos cosmetically covered.
One user wrote: "you look extra naked without the tattoos."

Which honestly, is spot on.
Another seemed to congratulate the rapper: "Oh snap no tattoos! Congrats !"
Others weren't so keen though, with one user saying: "Y’all remember 30 seconds ago when we didn’t see that first pic?"

A fourth made an astute comparison: "You all look like characters from the movie with Howie Mandel called Little monsters."
We'd argue he looks more like a grown-up Jack-Jack from The Incredibles, but to each their own.
