He may be 50, but Mark Wahlberg isn't showing any signs of slowing down, as he reveals he's back to peak fitness after piling on the pounds for an upcoming film.
In a promo post for his nutritional supplements company Performance Inspired Nutriton, Wahlberg showed off his cut-glass abs and biceps by flexing in a bathroom mirror as his shaved his moustache, telling viewers, 'I told you, this is 50.'
While Wahlberg is no stranger to showing off his toned physique, his level of fitness is all the more impressive given that it comes just months after finishing filming for his new film Father Stu, which required him to gain 30 pounds in just six weeks in order to portray the lead character.
Father Stu is based on the real life story of Father Stuart Long, a boxer turned priest who inspired thousands with his battle against an autoimmune condition called inclusion body myositis, turning his own life around in the process.

To prepare for the role, Wahlberg reportedly ending up consuming as many as 7,000 calories a day, almost three times what he'd ordinarily be eating. In an Instagram post revealing the dramatic transformation, Wahlberg credited his personal chef with helping him put on the weight in as healthy a manner possible.
But speaking to Australian daytime show The Kyle and Jackie O Show last week, Wahlberg revealed that at 50, the dramatic weight change was 'really difficult,' saying per MailOnline, 'I'm not getting any younger.'
'I would say it's easier to stay in shape than it is to get in shape,' he added when asked whether he'd found roles like The Fighter, which required him to improve his fitness, easier than roles like Father Stu.

Over the years, Wahlberg has given fans plenty of glimpses behind the scenes at his efforts to maintain his peak condition, and it looks exactly as torturous as you'd probably think.
In 2018, the actor famously posted an absolutely brutal workout schedule that involved a positively unhinged 7:30pm bedtime, 2:30am wake up time and two daily workouts, as well as a daily session in a cryotherapy chamber. All of which led fans to ask — is it really worth it?
Wahlberg's current look is more in line with his appearance in his latest film Uncharted, which hit cinemas last week and stars himself alongside Tom Holland as treasure hunters going in search of Magellan's lost fortune.
