Anne Hathaway's poke at Jimmy Fallon's audience after experiencing an awkward moment on air is nothing short of iconic.
Last week, Hathaway took to the sofa on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to chat about her latest movie - The Idea of You - however, she was left looking taken aback when the audience had an uncomfortable reaction to something she said.
On Monday (29 April), the 41-year-old appeared on Fallon's late-night chat show to discuss her role as Solène Marchand, a single 40-year-old mom who becomes romantically involved with 24-year-old lead singer of a boy band Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine) in The Idea of You - released on Amazon Prime Video on 2 May.

Trying to gage whether the audience had any previous knowledge about the film, Hathaway asked if anyone had 'read the book' on which it's based.
Alas, the actor was met with a more-than-awkward silence and then laughter from the audience - although thankfully Fallon swooped in and saved the day joking his audience aren't the type to read.
But now, Hathaway has had the last laugh, taking to her Instagram story to poke fun at Fallon's audience.

Hathaway took to her story on Sunday (5 May) to excitedly share that upon the release of The Idea of You onto Amazon Prime Video, the book on which it's based by Robinne Lee had become a number one best seller on Amazon.
The actor tagged Fallon's Instagram account, alongside the account for The Tonight Show and captioned the screenshot: "Audience said, ‘Hold my book’ !!!"
And fans of the book have taken to social media in praise of how it's been adapted into a film.

One X user said: "At this point if a book-to-screen adaption is produced by prime video i instantely know that i will love it. daisy jones & the six, red white & royal blue, the summer i turned pretty, culpa mia/my fault and now the idea of you which is another fantastic adaption! #theideaofyou."
"The Idea of You is movie of the year. It felt just like reading a romance book I was screaming, crying, kicking my feet the whole time. It was perfect," another added.
And a third commented: "When I say this movie #Ideaofyou made up for the ending in the boo ! The chemistry between Anne Hathaway & Nicholas Galitzine is amazing. I love when a movie follows the book closely but can make up for anything that hurt me and I was not disappointed."
