Ariana Grande has been under fire for controversial comments she has made about Jeffrey Dahmer.
Many of us may have considered who we would invite to our dream dinner date or dinner party.
There are, of course, several common answers.

A lot of people might bring up Oscar Wilde, famous for his wit and humour, or perhaps Marilyn Monroe.
It's a choice that could say a lot about a person, whether they want to meet someone famous or maybe someone less well known but of great personal importance.
And if you're a famous person in your own right, you'd probably want to have some PR-friendly answers ready just in case the question comes up.
But when the question did come up for Ariana Grande, she opened up rather frankly about who she would want to invite.

Grande appeared on the Podcrushed podcast and made a rather surprising admission about her childhood.
In an unusual move, Grande shared that she would want to have dinner with serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
She explained that this was because, as a child, she said that she had developed crushes on several serial killers.

“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger," she told Podcrushed.
Look, we've all been guilty of having a problematic fave at some point - but that's a different level!
Grande went on to explain: “Years ago, before the Dahmer series, I was in a Q&A with young fans. With a parent, someone said, ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?’
"And I was like, ‘Oh, honey, you’re so cute. Um, mom and dad, is it okay if I give the real answer?’"

In fairness, parents could hardly say 'no you have to give the PR answer' after such an open question, so they said yes.
So, Grande gave a candid answer to the fan, telling them: “Jeffrey Dahmer's pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him, maybe with like a third party or something.
"But I have questions. And the parents were like, ‘We’ll explain it later, sweetheart.'"

And it's fair to say that her choice went down about as well as you might expect.
One person criticised the remarks, commenting: "Unless the question is 'which serial killer would you have dinner with' and you have a gun to your head, there’s no damn reason to say this."
Another said the remarks were 'horribly insulting' to Dahmer's victims and their families.
A third remarked: "Ain’t nothing cute, edgy, cool, or okay with saying this."
