Britney Spears has shared how Justin Timberlake ended things with her.

The two pop sensations dated for three years, but Timberlake called time on their relationship in 2002.

Timberlake is now married to fellow actor Jessica Biel, whom he shares two kids with.

Meanwhile, Spears has recently called time on her marriage to Sam Asghari - her third marriage.

The 'Womanizer' hitmaker is set to reveal all about her life in her upcoming memoir The Woman In Me, which is set to hit shelves next week (October 24).

In an excerpt of the book obtained by PEOPLE, Spears alleged that she fell pregnant while dating Timberlake.

While Spears, then 19, was pleased to be starting a family with the NSYNC star (despite it being earlier that she'd planned), Timberlake was 'definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy', she claims.

UNILAD contacted Timberlake's representatives at the time for comment.

Now, in a new bombshell about their relationship, Spears shared the brutal way the 'Mirror' hitmaker allegedly ended things with her.

According to a part of the memoir seen by The New York Times, Timberlake dumped Spears by text which left her 'devastated' and considering quitting showbiz.

Following their break up, Timberlake released his hit song 'Cry Me A River' - which appeared to make a dig as Spears who he claimed to have cheated on her.

She described the music video for the track as having 'a woman who looks like me and cheats on him and he wanders around sad in the rain'.

Spears has since admitted to her infidelity and said she kissed her choreographer Wade Robson.

“We were out one night and we went to a Spanish bar. We danced and danced. I made out with him that night,” the Grammy Award winner wrote in her book.

The singer admits to her infidelity in her tell-all memoir.

Spears insists she was upfront with Timberlake about the encounter and the pair were able to move past it - but it was evident that the Friends With Benefits actor wasn't over it when they called things quits.

As well as 'Cry Me A River', Timberlake released tracks 'Never Again' and 'What Goes Around... Comes Around' which appeared to be about his ex girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Spears released the song 'Everytime' which has recently reentered the charts after nearly 20 years.

It comes in the wake of fans believing the music video for the hit song alluded to her abortion - which no one knew about at the time of its release in 2003.

UNILAD has contacted Timberlake's reps for comment.
