Colin Farrell has caused a bit of a stir after revealing what he found to be a 'turn-on' when working with Margot Robbie.

The pair star opposite each other in the new romantic fantasy flick, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which is set to hit cinemas on 19 September.

The film follows two strangers who meet at a mutual friend's wedding, 'getting the chance to relive important moments from their pasts, illuminating the path that led them to the present and gaining the opportunity to change their futures'.

During a joint appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the 49-year-old actor opened up about what it was like sharing the screen with Robbie, admitting he had heard nothing but praise about the Aussie star before they ever met on set.

He said: "You hear things through the years, 'cause as you know yourself, it's a fairly small industry... So I met people through the years that worked with Margot … and they all, [men and women], said how extraordinary she was."

The Irish actor added: "Not just it's obvious that she's an incredible actress, but how kind and fun and how just 'one of the team' she is. Which is always a turn-on for me. … Straight up!"

Farrell went on to say that working alongside Robbie was 'really easy' and he’s since described the whole experience as 'a dream' from start to finish.

Fans have loved Farrel's enthusiasm for his co-star, with one penning: "The energy and banter made me cheeks a bit sore from smiling."

Another said: "We desperately need more of this sort of genuine love and positivity right now," while someone else added: "My two favorites! Now I want to see MORE movie collaborations with the two of them!!"

As for Robbie, she was just as generous in her praise for her co-star, with her saying: "I also have always heard things about Colin. Everyone talks about what a great guy he is — obviously, I know he's talented and all that..."

She also revealed that two of her close friends had worked with him before as crew members, and they described him as 'the most divine human being on the planet'.

As for the film at hand, Robbie admitted she was drawn to A Big Bold Beautiful Journey because of its originality, explaining: "It felt really original and magical and romantic."

"The movie starts, and it's like a meet-cute at a wedding, and then it turns into like this road trip movie, and then it gets a little emotional … It kept surprising me."

She added that the script was 'exquisite' and that she 'wanted to do a love story', cheekily finishing with: "I would obviously love to do a love story with Colin Farrell."

Farrell previously told Variety he’d been delighted to finally get the chance to work with her, recalling that people had always described her as 'a mensch'.

“She’s the loveliest person, she’s fun," he gushed. "She’s obviously a brilliant actress, but they didn’t say that because that is stating the obvious, and the other stuff I didn’t know, and all of it was very true and then some.”

The film marks Robbie’s first project since the mega-success of Barbie in 2023, in which she both starred in and produced through her company LuckyChap. It also represents her first big role since giving birth to her first child last year.

Farrell, meanwhile, seems more than happy to gush about his time on set with her, with the duo clearly sharing plenty of admiration for each other both on and off screen.
