A leaked email has revealed some of the 'productivity recommendations' Elon Musk allegedly advises employees to abide by.
When Musk isn't stirring the pot by making likes private on X, he's offering up some advice to Tesla employees which has left social media users divided.
The screenshot of an email allegedly sent by Musk was leaked onto X in 2022.

It shows Musk thanking employees for an 'excellent quarter so far' while also stressing the need to adhere to a specific policy explaining 'there is nothing that matters more than [the company's] integrity as a company'.
After signing off, Musk then adds six 'productivity recommendations' which includes encouraging employees to 'walk out of a meeting or drop off a call'.
But why?

Well, Musk encourages employees to do so 'as soon as it is obvious you aren't adding value'.
Brutal.
The email continues: "It is not rude to leave, it is rude to make someone stay and waste their time."
And Musk's 'recommendations' don't end there either.

Other advice for employees to take heed of includes Musk stating: "Excessive meetings are the blight of big companies and almost always get worse over time. Please get [out] of all large meetings, unless you're certain they are providing value to the whole audience in which case keep them very short."
Employees also shouldn't conduct 'frequent meetings' unless there's an 'extremely urgent matter' to be dealt with'.
Another piece of advice reads: "Don't use acronyms or nonsense words for objects, software or processes at Tesla. In general, anything that requires an explanation inhibits communication. We don't want people to have to memorize a glossary just to function at Tesla."

"Communication should travel via the shortest path necessary to get the job done. Any manager who attempts to enforce chain of command communication will soon find themselves working elsewhere," point five reads.
Musk also advocates for 'free flow of information between all levels' and to 'talk directly and just make the right thing happen'.
And it didn't take long for people to flock to X to weigh in on the 'recommendations' set by Musk.

One user said: "Disregarding the chain of command can be disastrous though."
"I absolutely abhor meetings! I agree completely with all but #4, which I agree with some," another added.
A third commented: "Warm suggestion: don’t breach #4 without a ridiculously good reason."
Musk himself even responded to the email leak, adding in a tweet: "Especially the last one."
