A Katy Perry fan saw an unusual opportunity, and took it.
The 'Firework' hitmaker is thought to have been in Mexico from the looks of her Instagram when the incident in question occurred, as Perry danced on stage in front of a group of adoring fans.
Perry was dancing to Madonna's 'Hung Up', while sipping a drink, when an eagled eyed person spotted a loose hair extension hanging down behind the singer, who had her dark locks down.
As Perry danced away, someone then grabbed the loose hair extension and pulled it from her head without the 40-year-old noticing.

It's now believed that the music fan went on to frame the piece of hair in their home.
Creepy or sweet? I'll let you decide.
The now-viral clip has left people divided online as they asked themselves the same question.
"Very creepy and this is assault," one person said.

"Idc, this is harassment and weird," someone else wrote, as a third added: "Creepy...watch out for black magic."

Dozens of others pointed out that it could have been Perry's real hair and the fan was some-what brave for taking the risk.
On the other hand, some were low key impressed that the person did it without the pop icon noticing and found it amusing.
Someone said of the person's hair-stealing technique: "The way they did it effortlessly."
"I’d sell it and then never need to work again," said a different person.

Elsewhere someone else suggested that fan might have been doing Perry a favor.
"Honestly i would have the impulse to do that too but purely bc it’s uneven and clearly falling out already," one Twitter user said. "I don’t think i could stop staring at it otherwise."
Echoing similar sentiments, another said: "Honestly it kinda fixed her hair so..."
UNILAD have approached Perry's reps for comment.

The viral video comes as the 'Roar' singer announced added new dates in Mexico as part of her Lifetimes Tour next year as the first few sold out.
She'll be performing two dates in April 2025 in Mexico City and Monterrey, followed by a Guadalajara show on May 2.
The following month, Perry will be hosting a series of shows in Australia in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.
The highly anticipated tour will conclude in London, UK, on October 13.
The Lifetimes Tour is Perry's first since her Witness: The Tour, which started in 2017 and concluded the following year.
