The actor received a Golden Globe nomination for Best TV Actress for the Netflix series Griselda, where she portrayed Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
She was up against Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans), Kate Winslet (The Regime), and Foster for the award - with Foster ultimately going on to win for her role in True Detective: Night Country.
Foster has a stellar record at the Golden Globes, with the latest marking her fifth - and Vergara certainly had something to say about that.

"Jodie Foster being heckled by Sofia, is quite interesting.
"You’ve got Vergara who lost out, and Jodie’s a tough cookie. We didn’t see the classic signs of contempt, but what we did see is duper's delight, which is when someone feels they’ve got away with something.
"Because Jodie knows her position in Hollywood, she flashes this big smile, it more or less signifies her position as a Hollywood megastar."
The body language expert continued: "I don’t think Foster was being malicious but the subtle look let the heckle go straight over her head, she wasn’t affected or perturbed by it at all.

"I don’t think Vergara was trying to be underhanded or malicious, she was laughing when she did it, and Jodie laughed back it was clearly light-hearted. Nothing negative, the heckle was meant to be a joke, as it was received."
