J Cole has apologised for a diss track he published directed towards Kendrick Lamar.
In a moment where the rapper extended an olive branch to his fellow musician, he told crowds how the track had made him lose sleep, even saying he 'damn near had a relapse'.
The song was called 7 Minute Drill, and J Cole explained that it was intended as a response to the hit Like That.

This song sees Lamar claiming he is dominant in the rap scene, with J Cole hitting back that the album was 'tragic' and that he had 'fallen off like the Simpsons'.
However, while speaking on Sunday, J Cole retracted his remarks, describing them as 'goofy' and 'lame'.
He apologised for them, and even said that he would be pulling the song from streaming platforms as a gesture of goodwill.

"I was proud of that project, except for one part," he said. "There's one part of that sh*t that makes me feel like man, that's the lamest sh*t I ever made in my f*cking life."
He added: “I just want to come up here and publicly be like, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest s***. I say all that to say it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly. And I pray that God will line me back up on my purpose and on my path."
The musician also described how the track had been making him feel uncomfortable prior to issuing his retraction.
He said: “I haven’t been sleeping right the last few days… Ib, we taking that diss off streaming services.”

J Cole went on to ask: “How many of y’all think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest ever to pick up a mic?”
And Lamar is not the only rapper that J Cole has beefed with in recent months, with Drake also being a part of some ongoing feuds.
The three rappers ended up in a feud after Cole described them as 'the big three' of rap.

Lamar took aim at this lyric in particular, saying that there was no 'big three - it's just big me'.
As the feud escalated, Cole replied in his track 7 Minute Drill, which featured on his new album, Might Delete Later.
This turned out to be a fitting name as he decided to retract it, but what this will mean for the feud remains to be seen.
