Javier Bardem has been praised for his answer when asked what it's like being the only man who enjoys working with his wife.
The star shot down a Cannes Film Festival journalist's extremely sexist question during the press conference for the hit 2018 mystery-drama, Everybody Knows, in which he acted alongside his wife Penelope Cruz.
The couple have starred in many movies together, from the cult classic Spanish film Jamón in 1992, the romance-drama Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2008 and Loving Pablo which was released back in 2017. Take a look at Bardem's incredible response to the reporter's question:
The off-camera reporter asked Bardem: "How do you feel being the only man in the world who enjoys working with his wife?"

I mean, that's already bad but to make matters even worse - Cruz was sat on the panel the whole time.
A small bout of nervous laughter can be heard from the audience as Bardem shakes his head and issues a lightning-fast response.
The No Country for Old Men star calmly but firmly replied: "The question is of extremely bad taste," shortly followed by the crowd's cheering and clapping.
The mic-drop moment has since been shared across social media, with one Reddit user writing: "He looks like he is about to shoot him with his piercing eyes."

"See that sneer as he raises the corner of his mouth and squints his eye shut?" pointed out another. "Nothing but pure contempt! Keep being classy Javier!"
A third echoed: "I love how he doesn't even give an inch, just a stare down with a not-gonna-accept-that-garbage look. As it should be!"
A fourth penned: "Honestly, good on him for calling that sh*t out.

"It's exhausting that the whole 'husband and wife hate each other/spending time together' joke still gets thrown around, because it normalizes this idea that it's NORMAL for m/f married couples to resent each other."
They continued: "Like, f**k that s**t. It ain't healthy."

Damn straight.

Another hit out: "Seriously wtf is wrong with men who can’t stand their wives?! Like why are you even married ffs?!"
A good point indeed.
"Great response to an asinine question," commented a sixth. Well done."
"This moment will be living rent free in that reporters mind forever," declared a final Reddit user.

Well, one thing's for sure and that's that this reporter will definitely think twice before popping a question like that ever again.
