The Hustlers star reportedly filed the documents by herself, without an attorney, TMZ reported and she also did so on a pretty significant date.
After embarking on a relationship in the early 2000s and even getting engaged, the pair ultimately called their wedding off and went their separate ways.
In 2021, Affleck and Lopez struck up their romance once again, getting married on July 16, 2022 in Las Vegas and heading to Savannah, Georgia for a traditional ceremony which took place on August 20, 2022.
And so Lopez's filing for divorce seemingly came exactly two years after their traditional ceremony - with a source since addressing the significance of this date.

Another insider also told the outlet: "She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been."

The legal documents - seen by the BBC - reportedly state that both actors must share their financial information, however, it doesn't mention any details of a prenuptial agreement between the pair.
Lopez reportedly has 60 days to disclose her financial information - including her properties, current income, expenses and debt - with Affleck also having 60 days after she submits her report.
