Social media users have flocked to Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe's defence after JK Rowling hit out against them online.
Taking to X, Rowling shared a post about a review by Hilary Cass on gender identity services for children and young people - calling it the 'most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that's ever been conducted'.

The Harry Potter writer continued: "These are people who've deemed opponents 'far-right' for wanting to know there are proper checks and balances in place before autistic, gay and abused kids - groups that are all overrepresented at gender clinics - are left sterilised, inorgasmic, lifelong patients."
Rowling's take on the review was that children have been 'irreversibly harmed' and it's not just medics who are 'complicit' but the 'celebrity mouthpieces' too.
And who should then get a mention by another user but Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe - both who have openly spoken out in support of the transgender community.
A user responded noting they were 'just waiting for Dan and Emma' to give Rowling 'a very public apology' adding the actors are 'safe in the knowledge' Rowling 'will forgive them'.

However, Rowling replied insinuating she won't be forgiving the actors anytime soon.
And it's not taken long for fans of Watson and Radcliffe to rush to their defence.
One X user said: "I'm sure Daniel Radcliffe & Emma Watson are devastated. Or more likely they don't want anything to do with Joanne cos of her bigotry & obsessive abuse of trans people.

"They don't owe her s**t & never did."
"Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe don't need forgiveness for being compassionate human beings and they weren't offering you an apology," another added.
A third commented: "Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have never once mentioned JK Rowling by name, they've simply expressed allyship and compassion towards trans people and she's taken it as a personal attack on her. Says all you need to know."
And a fourth resolved: "Wait - what have Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe got to apologise to Rowling for? They were in the films of her books when they were kids, she doesn't own them. That's some really weird feudal s**t there..."
