Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were a true dream team at the Oscars, but there was one detail fans honed in on after seeing them on the red carpet.
The two actors both appeared in gleaming white outfits at the 96th Academy Awards, where Blunt had been honored with a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Oppenheimer.
And fans couldn't get enough of the pair as they watched Krasinski dote on his wife at the event, with many sharing their appreciation for The Office star as he held Blunt's hand when her category came up.

But while a lot of people were focused on the love between Krasinski and Blunt, other people turned their attention to a feature of Blunt's dress.
The stunning, sparkly gown was pulled in at the waist and dropped to the floor, with thin straps running up and over Blunt's shoulders.
And when I say 'over', I mean they actually didn't appear to be touching Blunt's shoulders at all.
A slight gap between Blunt's skin and the dress was visible when the actor walked the red carpet with her husband, but it became even more noticeable when the cameras cut to Blunt in her seat at the award ceremony.

Viewers were left entirely baffled at the scene, as it appears the straps formed a rigid part of Blunt's dress that couldn't have fallen down even if she'd tried to make them.
"Emily Blunt is a gorgeous woman…but can someone explain the shoulders of her dress tonight?," one viewer asked on X, while another commented: "I’m so distracted by the shoulders on Emily Blunt’s dress."
Another viewer couldn't help but make a joke about the straps, writing: "Find someone who will respect your personal space the way the straps on Emily Blunt’s dress respects hers."

Though a lot of film fans clearly couldn't move past the apparent fashion faux pas, others used the opportunity to bring the conversation back to Blunt and Krasinski.
"The most important thing about Emily Blunt's dress is the way John Krasinski looked at her," one X post reads.
Krasinski also matched Blunt's outfit perfectly as he appeared at the Oscars wearing a white suit, bowtie and a silver brooch.

Though Blunt clearly received a lot of attention at the Oscars, she didn't manage to secure the award for Best Supporting Actress as she lost out to Da'Vine Joy Randolph for her role in The Holdovers.
