John Lennon's son reveals there's one Taylor Swift lyric that made him feel 'uncomfortable'

John Lennon's son reveals there's one Taylor Swift lyric that made him feel 'uncomfortable'

The late musician's son had a few words to say

John Lennon's son, Sean Ono Lennon, had a few words to say on the aftermath of Taylor Swift's Kamala Harris endorsement.

Last week, Swift publicly endorsed the Harris-Walz campaign on her Instagram leaving many people talking — particularly Donald Trump.

The former president took to Truth Social to express his feelings following Swift's endorsement, posting: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT."

Lennon's son weighed in on Trump's reaction writing on Twitter on September 15: "Hating on Taylor Swift is not a good look."

The musician went on to explain his feelings toward Swift and his opinion on her music writing, "I have never been a fan of her music, although I can't think of a single song so I don't really know if I like it or not."

"But I know she is a uniquely successful American," Lennon added. "A young woman who has done things in a way that no one has done before her. She is the kind of American that should be respected and in fact treasured. We need more not less Taylor Swifts in our world."

"For some old grumpy dude to get angry at her, not that's not a good look," Lennon continued. "A more 'presidential' or gracious criticism might have been something like 'She is a brilliant young woman. I have a lot of respect for what she has accomplished. I don't believe she knows the reality of the party she is endorsing. I hope her fans are able to make up their own minds and understand the big difference between a talent in music and an understanding of politics or economics.' How about that?"

"That would've sounded reasonable," Lennon added. "But 'old man yells at moon' is not a good look," he wrote before mentioning that he is not endorsing either party this year.

The next day Lennon returned to Twitter to share that he heard Swift's 2014 hit "Bad Blood," and that there was a certain lyric in it that made him 'uncomfortable.'

"I can't believe I forgot this one but I actually remember a Taylor song called 'Bad Blood' (or something)," Lennon wrote. "I remember she rhymed 'mad love' with 'bad blood' and that kind of made me uncomfortable."

"This is only to say that it was not true I don't know any songs," he noted. "I know that one."

"I have nothing against her. I have a lot of respect for what she has accomplished. I certainly could never do what she does," he concluded.
