“He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
In a recent article in the New York Times, Lamar was labelled as the 'most important rapper of his generation'.
The publication went on to call Lamer the ‘most elliptical’ lyricist who is performing in the genre of rap.
Lamar is also known for his ongoing feud with Canadian rapper Drake, seeing the pair throwing increasingly vitriolic lyrics back and forth at one another.

The feud seems to be going well for Lamar, who has recently seen streams of his music increase by some 50 percent.
Nonetheless, in absolute terms Drake's numbers were still much higher than those of Lamar.
Meanwhile streams of Drake's music dropped during the same period of time.

Since it began the feud has seen Lamar accuse Drake of having a secret daughter and even calling him a 'certified pedophile'.
For his part, Drake has also not held back during his feud with Lamar.
The rapper accused Lamar of being 'obsessive' as well as of domestic violence.
Both Drake and Lamar deny any wrongdoing.
The feud has gotten so pronounced that WWE wrestler Shawn Michaels even suggested that the pair duke it out in the ring as a way for them to settle their differences.
