Kevin Bacon didn't have the best experience while trying to be 'normal for the day', having gone to some intense lengths to disguise himself.
Not that I would know, but I can imagine it's pretty difficult to live a 'normal life' when you're a celebrity.
Whether it's a trip for some groceries, watching a flick in the cinema, or just a walk in the neighbourhood - famous faces are going to get recognised aren't they?

Well, Bacon decided to try and be a 'normal' person for the day as he put on an elaborate disguise for an afternoon of shopping at Grove shopping center in Los Angeles.
The area is a very touristy area of LA, and being a non-celebrity there is not what it lived up to be, according to Bacon.
The actor explained in a new interview with Vanity Fair that he has often dreamt about what it would be like going about day-to-day life as a normal person.

He realized it would take some work, but was up for the challenge.
“I’m not complaining, but I have a face that’s pretty recognizable,” Bacon told the outlet.
"Putting my hat and glasses on is only going to work to a certain extent."
Nothing was going to stop Bacon from becoming a non-celebrity though, as he went all out and visited a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and 'asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise'.

So, what was the end result? Well the Apollo 13 star had a different nose, glasses and fake teeth.
“Nobody recognized me,” Bacon admitted, adding that while he enjoyed it for a bit, the novelty quickly wore off as people began 'pushing past' the actor and 'not being nice'.
Bacon even had to wait in line for a coffee, something he is not usually used to doing.
"I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a f****** coffee or whatever," he said.

"I was like, ‘This sucks. I want to go back to being famous'."
Just because he doesn't like being a non-celebrity, that doesn't mean Bacon won't mix with us common folk.
Earlier this year, he made headlines after leaving students of Footloose school in raptures by announcing he was coming to prom.

Students from Payson High School had been keen to see the actor return to the school, where Footloose was filmed for years.
"I have been so impressed with everything that’s been going on there with this crazy idea to get me to come back," Bacon told the students.
"I’ve been amazed at the work that all of you have been putting into this, with the musical and the flash mobs and the re-creations."
Bacon continued: "It hasn’t gone unnoticed by me, not to mention the fact that you tied in Six Degrees, our foundation, and are trying to figure out ways to give back to your community.
"It’s really inspirational, so thank you. Thank you."
He then revealed: "And I’m gonna come. I gotta come!"
