Kim Kardashian knows a thing or two about marketing, but even the reality star-turned-entrepreneur wasn’t prepared for the impact her brand would have.
The SKIMS founder was stunned to learn that her shapewear range actually helped to save the life of one fan.
Still, in utter disbelief, the 42-year-old even shared this on her Instagram after hearing Angelina Wiley’s story.

It’s understandable when you hear what Wiley, also known as Nina, has been through.
The 22-year-old was a victim of a horrific gun crime, revealing that she’d been shot four times while enjoying the New Year’s Eve celebration last year.
She claimed the SKIMS bodysuit she was wearing actually saved her life thanks to it compressing the wounds she incurred.

“This New Year’s I got shot four times. The night I got shot, under my dress, I was wearing a SKIMS shaping bodysuit. It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out,” Wiley explained to her followers in a series of TikTok videos.
The shocking incident happened in Kansas City, Missouri, while she was out with friends.
As the night came to an end, the group visited a food truck around 1:30 am during which a fight broke out close by.

Wiley recalled seeing people ‘fighting in the road’ and a ‘man in a ski mask’, with her caught in the crossfire moments later.
Thankfully, she claimed the shapewear helped stem the bleeding meaning she was able to get to the hospital - despite the ambulance struggling to reach her through the holiday traffic.
Inspired by her story, Kardashian shared one of Wiley’s TikToks on Instagram with the caption: "Wow."

While she may have impressed The Kardashians star, the kind gesture may have bigger implications for Wiley - who is still trying to pay for bills as she recovers.
She’s even been fundraising on GoFundMe, telling her supporters how she’s struggled to recover from the violent night.
“I’ve gone through ups and downs as I hopped, scooted, and rolled around everywhere when I couldn’t walk,” she revealed, adding: "I continue to have a lot of struggles with my hip ever since the fracture as well as many other pains.
"The bullet still in me causes random pains and honestly I struggle with severe ptsd ever since the shooting. It has made returning to work full time difficult."

Angelina concluded: "Thank you for everyone who’s been there for me during this tragedy in my life."
Here’s hoping that Kardashian’s post will help to get Wiley the support she deserves.
