Tenacious D’s Kyle Gass has been dropped by their talent agent following the ongoing fallout regarding his comments about the assassination of Donald Trump.

Jack Black announced today, July 17, that the duo’s world tour would be cancelled, and that he would be pausing all future creative endeavours with Gass.

Black said he was ‘blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday’.

The pair have starred in rock duo Tenacious D for 30 years.

In a show in Sydney on Sunday, Jack Black presented the comedian with a birthday cake and asked what he wished for.

Kyle Gass responded by saying: “Don’t miss Trump next time”.

The Hollywood Reporter have since revealed that they have learned that Gass has been dropped by his agency, Greene Talent.

The comedian has apologised for his comments in a statement on Instagram.

Gass said in his statement: “The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake.

“I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone.

“What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”

Gass’ statement came following the news that the duos world tour would be cancelled.

Jack Black posted a statement on Instagram announcing the news where he said:

“I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.

“After much reflection I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold.

“I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

The clips of Gass joking about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump caused outrage.

The duo were on their Australian leg of the tour, with one Australian senator, Ralph Babet, demanding the pair have their visas revoked and are removed from the country.

Babet said: “I call on the prime minister Anthony Albanese to join me in denouncing Tenacious D, Jack Black and band member Kyle Gass, and I call on the immigration minister Andrew Giles to revoke their visas and deport them immediately.

“Anything less than a deportation is an endorsement of the shooting and the attempted assassination of Donald J Trump.”

This incident comes in the fallout of the attempted assassination of Trump, in which Trump was hit on the ear by a gunshot whilst talking at a rally in Pennsylvania.
