Macy Gray has opened up about how using weight loss drug Ozempic caused her some unpleasant side effects.
The singer revealed that these were so unpleasant that she was left unable to sleep due to their severity.
Gray said she turned to Ozempic to help her lose weight after she found herself 'gaining a lot' over the past couple of years.
She opened up about her weight loss journey with Ozempic in an episode of The Surreal Life, revealing some of the more difficult side effects that come with it.

Ozempic works by increasing the level of incretins in the body.
This is a type of hormone which is usually produced in the body when we eat as a way for the body to tell us that we've had enough.
So by inducing the body to produce it, Ozempic tricks us into feeling full so we are not compelled to eat as much. Essentially, it's an appetite suppressant.
Unfortunately, Gray complained that it had caused her some side effects while she was using the drug to help her with weight loss.

Speaking to hosts on The Surreal Life, she shared that she had been kept up all night by two symptoms.
"Oh boy, my stomach hurts. I've just been really constipated," she said, adding: "I took Ozempic. I can't go to the bathroom, and I was up all night."
She was joined by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim, who quipped "Ozempic does that."

Macy continued, saying: "Last night it hurt."
Kim replied by warning her: "You have to be careful, you know."
Macy went on to reveal that she had decided to use Ozempic prior to an upcoming tour.
She said: "Quietly, I'm kind of a vain person. I've gained a lot of weight over the past couple years, and this is right about the time when everybody starts talking about this Ozempic.

"So, I thought, okay, I'm not taking it off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic.
"I was actually trying to take it off [the weight] before the show because I didn't want to be super fat on TV, but here we are."
People took to social media to share their thoughts on the revelation.
