We all have friends that we think of as family, but imagine finding out you are actually related?
Well, this could indeed be the reality for Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, with the A-lister actors suspecting that they could be brothers.
And after hearing their story, veteran talk show host Maury Povich has offered to come out of retirement and provide the pair with a DNA test.

The 84-year-old made the cheeky offer earlier this week during an appearance on E! news, where he spoke about the potentially famous family.
Having featured DNA tests on his self-entitled talk show, which ended last year after 31 years, Povich teased that he would be willing to come out of retirement.
He told viewers: “I just heard about the possibilities - I mean Matthew, I don't know you; Woody, you're my pal… But guess what: I would come out of retirement - we could do prime time - DNA, Maury's back, with Woody and Matthew.”

Povich then added: “Woody's got my number - I'm ready.”
Appearing on the show a day later (Sept 20), McConaughey said that he wasn’t sure about a TV special but admitted that he was curious.
“I don't know if we're gonna do it on your show, but I like the way you're thinking,” the Wolf Of Wall Street star said.

While the jury is out on whether or not they are actually related, Harrelson and McConaughey have candidly spoken about their possible family ties.
Back in April, the Natural Born Killers star spoke about how his friend - and now potential sibling - was hesitant to take the test.
During an episode of the Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Harrelson revealed that they’d suspected they were related after chatting with McConaughey's mom Mary.
“Well, I’ll just say there is some veracity to that thought because we talked to Ma’ Mac, Matthew’s legitimate mother…” he confessed.

According to the Oscar winner, the group had been in Greece and were watching a football match when the conversation turned to regrets.
It was then that Mary made the shocking revelation, saying that she ‘knew’ Harrelson’s dad – heavily hinting at a, um, intimate relationship.
He later told Colbert: “I have known Ma' Mac a long time, and she goes, ‘I knew… your father.’ And it was the ellipses I found a little troubling, or interesting. ‘I knew your father..”

To make matters even more complicated, she’d been on a ‘sabbatical’ from her relationship with McConaughey's dad roughly nine months before he was born.
Understandably, McConaughey is a little hesitant to take the test.
Harrelson explained: “I mean he feels like he is losing a father. But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and a brother.”
Whilst we can completely emphasise, we would love a DNA special with the two A-Listers!
