Michael B. Jordan’s awkward exchange with someone who used to tease him at school proves you may forgive, but you never really forget those who wronged you.
37-year-old Jordan has spent more than two decades in the limelight honing his craft as a serious actor.
After appearing in Cosby and The Sopranos episodes, he starred in Hardball beside Keanu Reeves in 2001 before officially making a name for himself as Wallace in HBO’s The Wire.
Since then, the Californian has gone from strength to strength; portraying the main antagonist in Black Panther, making his directorial debut with Creed III and now part-owns Premier League football club AFC Bournemouth.

But despite the success, it appears that even Hollywood movie stars like Jordan can’t forget their childhood tormentors.
Last year, the Newark Arts High School alumni was on the red carpet promoting Creed III when he came face-to-face with Lore’l - the host of The Morning Hustle Show.
Both she and Jordan attended the same educational institution in New Jersey and the latter didn’t pass up the chance to remind her of her past comments.
Speaking to the reporter, he remarked: "I was the corny kid, right?"

Trying to defend herself, Lore'l responded: "I did not say that! I was misquoted for sure!"
This led the actor to double down as he replied: "I heard it.”
Jordan was referring to comments Lore'l made on a podcast back in 2021.

Appearing on the Undressing Room podcast, Lore'l said: "You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life.
"And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan.
"And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood.”
She claimed that people at the school would ‘make fun of him’ and question what he was going to do with his ‘stupid headshot’.

“And now look at him,” Lore'l added. “But yeah, he is obviously killing things out there.”
Lore'l denied directly calling Jordan corny and tried to end her red-carpet interview on a lighter note by saying: “Well, you're not corny anymore.”
The interviewee however continued to move down the carpet and appeared not to respond to the interviewer’s joke.

Following the awkward exchange in 2023, fans of the star came out in their droves to pledge their allegiance.
One user of X wrote: “You called him corny. Now you gotta call him actor, director, superstar, Hollywood mogul. Living legend. He took that s**t personally.”
A second typed: “You called him corny, but you're the one who interviewing him not the other way around. I'm glad MBJ got the last laugh.”
