Many celebrities have become writers over the years, but even with well-paid ghost-writers on hand, only a few pen bestsellers.
However, actor Michael Caine has revealed he’d spent years writing a book about a plane crashing into a skyscraper.
Now fans are wondering what the novel might have been like, with the Interstellar star confessing he scrapped the project after 9/11.

It’s not the first time Caine has set pen to paper, with the Batman Begins actor previously releasing three autobiographies about his impressive career.
Not satisfied with that, he also released two fact books, Not Many People Know That! and And Not Many People Know This Either!, a nod to his iconic line in Educating Rita.
However, the 90-year-old would frequently lose himself in thrillers and set out to write his own bestseller about a plane crashing into a London skyscraper.

Sadly though, the unpublished novel eventually made its way to the wastepaper basket after the horrific events of 9/11.
Even more annoyingly, the veteran actor spent years working on the book prior to scrapping it.
In an interview with The Telegraph, he told the newspaper: “This is unbelievable…I just got so angry, I tore the f**king thing up…I was so p***ed off, I’d been working on it forever.”
Thankfully, the A-Lister was eventually about to write another thriller, which is set to be released this November.

The epic book centres around two rubbish collectors who find plutonium in a dust cart, only to be dragged into the sinister London underworld.
With appearances from a Russian oligarch and a drug cartel, the story may seem a little far-fetched, but it was actually inspired by a newspaper article Caine read.
It took 18 months to finish his new novel, but Deadly Game is set to be released in November.

Recalling the long process, Caine said: “When I wrote about my career I knew everything about it. If you’re writing about a murder, I don’t know anything about that so I needed some help with the research.”
Despite his efforts though, the aging A-Lister has insisted that his book won’t be a classic anytime soon.
He said: “It’s not literature, it’s a thriller. …. I’m just happy it’s being published.”
Continuing, Caine added: “The best thing about being 90 is that nobody expects you to do very much and people do things for you.”
