MrBeast’s leaked employee handbook reveals the YouTuber's 'secret weapons' for success

MrBeast’s leaked employee handbook reveals the YouTuber's 'secret weapons' for success

The MrBeast work culture is likely very different to your office

MrBeast has been able to make millions through YouTube but it hasn’t been a fluke... in fact, an employee handbook has recently been leaked and reveals how he became successful.

Now if you were hoping for a step-by-step guide on how to become as wealthy or successful as MrBeast... you are completely out of luck.

But if you wanted to know how MrBeast - real name Jimmy Donaldson - runs his companies and was able to build his YouTube empire you might be in just the right place.

The 26-year-old YouTuber's success is clearly a team effort and has been so for a few years now which is exactly why Donaldson decided to write a 36-page guide for employees.

The details of this guide have begun circulating on social media after being leaked, with Business Insider having verified the document by speaking to two former staffers.

However, they were unable to confirm when it was written.

So, what sort of advice do you think MrBeast would give to employees to keep his businesses growing and thriving?

Four of the points raised in the large document clearly indicate how the YouTuber has been on top for so long.

Be obsessed

Donaldson wants his staff members to be focussed on making YouTube content and should consider watching YouTube rather than Netflix and Hulu in their spare time, he wrote in the guide.

"This is not Hollywood and I do not want to be Hollywood. If that sentence is a turn off to you then you're probably at the wrong job." he wrote.

Making mistakes is perfectly fine

None of us are perfect. But it seems in MrBeast’s company they just want you to own up to it and do your best to learn from it.

The guide states employees should ‘say the negatives’ out loud so there are no surprises down the line.

“I've never ever ever once fired someone on the spot for messing up, you have nothing to be afraid of," he wrote. "Own s*** so we can address how to fix it and then move on."

Take ownership of your work

I guess this part prevents meaningless micromanagement and pointless delegation of tasks.

"Take ownership and don't give your project a chance to fail," he wrote.

"Dumping your bottleneck on someone and then just walking away until it's done is lazy and it gives room for error and I want you to have a mindset that God himself couldn't stop you from making this video on time."

Get creative saving money

I mean this is a great rule in life in general if we are being honest. But the guide suggests its important to find ways to cut costs and it ultimately makes things better for everyone.

"Every dollar we save allows me to give you guys more stability and hire more people to make your life easier," Donaldson wrote. "In every single freakin task assigned to you, always always always ask yourself first if you can find a consultant to help you."

While the guide touches on multiple aspects of the job it also states that what they do is complex and can change by the situation, so it is equally important to ‘apply everything I read with a grain of salt.'
